Just thought it was of note that every Russian on our block knows we moved in, and that we moved from Maine...
I walked around the city streets tonight popping into businesses, grabbing take-out menus, and snapping photos of the night life. Sadly there wasn't anything amusing to show you. I could show you the amazing night architecture, but we will save that for later.
I wanted to mention how friendly everybody is. In other cities I've felt as though I shouldn't make eye contact with any passerbys because they would probably take that as an A-ok to stab me. Instead I'm pleasantly surprised to report that I get smiles and nods from everyone I pass*, homeless people only ask for change once, and I haven't seen any dog mess on the sidewalks.
*people may be smiling at me because I have a dumb grin on my face, and I look a little simple-minded.
I'm glad that after a long day of work (generally 10-11 hours) I can find peace in a bustling city.

First Weekend!
First off, welcome to our blog! This blog's intent is to keep everyone informed of our adventures... (i.e. the adventures of Emma and Zach (i.e. Emza))
We will try to give you as many photo and video and sounds as we can find abound in the great New Hampshire city of Manchester.
Unfortunately there are some things you missed out on so far, and so we can only bullet point them here....
- Our 'property management' company that set us up in our apartment gave us the wrong keys.
- We have had to move our cars approx. 35-40 times on our own street in the span of a week.
- A Russian bar located below us played some form of Bollywood/Polka/Techno with a guy screaming in a foreign language until 2:30 AM. (We tried to get sound clips for you, really, we did try)
- Our upstairs neighbors have a child that runs back and forth in their apartment during the times of 11am until - ? (he? she? it? falls asleep) Emma believes that mayhaps their child is training for a stomping marathon, or maybe as Zach counterpoints, the child is only trying to break through the floor.
After the Russian explosion of sound party we did find this outside on the sidewalk....
Yeahhhh, if you can't quite make that out, it is razor blades and vomit.... somehow it ends up feeling poetic?
Don't get us wrong though, we did find an amazing pizza place! http://www.alleycatpizzerianh.com/
While their web page leaves much to be desired, they are the home of the 20" pizza. I would believe that they have raised a pizza from a small child to a whopping 20" fantasmal experience. We would like to inform you, dear readers, that this experiance can be purchased for a mere 10.88 for sauce and cheese! Remember, no taxes in New Hampshire!
Pictures?
Sure!
We couldn't believe it... until we measured it (that's what she said)! Then, after we had stuffed approx. 27 feet (very approximate) of pepperoni and cheese love into our pouches...ponches? Both! We realized our dwarvish fridge could not handle 20 inches of box. Drastic surgical procedures amended this issue.
Stay tuned as we finish up unpacking boxes, learn how to park in Manchester, and remove all the mirror tile from our dining room wall! Plus all the exciting 'look what we found' to come!
Love,
EmZa
